Derby County will be aiming to build upon their recent triumph over Sheffield Wednesday when they face Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup tonight.

The Rams produced one of their most impressive away displays of the 2019/20 campaign to date last Saturday as they sealed a 3-1 victory in their Championship clash with the Owls at Hillsborough.

Set to host the Red Devils at Pride Park this evening, Derby will be fairly confident heading into this showdown due to their impressive home form.

Having failed to lose a single game in-front of their own supporters since the turn of the year, the Rams could potentially pull off an upset in the world's oldest cup competition.

Whilst Tom Huddlestone and Duane Holmes are both set to miss the clash as a result of their respective injury issues, the likes of Jack Marriott and Graeme Shinnie will be pushing for a place in manager Phillip Cocu's starting eleven.

Speaking to BBC Sport ahead of the fixture, pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted that Derby will suffer a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Red Devils.

The ex-Liverpool defender said: "I wonder who people might be taking about in this tie?

"A former Manchester United striker, perhaps?

"Derby are not just all about Wayne Rooney, of course, and they are on a good run at Pride Park.

"But I cannot look further than a Manchester United win here."

The Verdict

Although Derby do have players at their disposal who can hurt United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side may prove to be too strong for them today.

Regardless of what side the Norwegian opts to select for this fixture, the Rams know that they will have to be on top-form in order to deliver a respectable display at Pride Park.

Providing that they are willing to take the game to United, Derby could create an exciting spectacle for their supporters.

With the Rams still aiming to launch a late push for the play-offs in the Championship, an impressive performance against the Red Devils could provide them with some much-needed momentum heading into the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.
