Marco Silva has confirmed that Fabio Carvalho will miss Fulham's trip to Coventry City tomorrow, whilst they could also be without a specialist left-back.

The Cottagers have enjoyed a strong start to the season, and they head to the Midlands sitting in third place, above the Sky Blues by a place and a point.

However, they do have a few injury worries going into the clash, with Silva telling West London Sport that the game will come too soon for the talented Carvalho, as he also opened up on the left-back problems he has.

"Antonee Robinson wasn’t comfortable playing (against Swansea). It was something in his knee, but nothing special. Joe Bryan had a big impact on his back and it was really stiff at half time, and the beginning of the second half. Today, he’s doing better than yesterday.

"Fabio is working with the team. Today he worked again. He had a good session. Now is for him to get in the best physical condition to play, and we expect to see him after the international break. Chalobah felt something in the first half at Bristol City. He hasn’t worked with the team since then."

The verdict

It's a shame that Carvalho won't be involved because the teenager was outstanding in the early part of the season and he brings a lot to the team.

But, they've picked up results without the youngster in recent games, so the bigger issue for Silva will be the left-back problem if Robinson and Bryan don't make it.

The boss does seem confident that one will play, but even so, Fulham will have a quality XI out on the pitch that is capable of getting a win against a tough opponent.
