Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa could be set to make a big call and leave the club's pre-season tour of Australia early.

According to Alan Nixon, Bielsa is not a fan of going on big pre-season tours around the world, and he could well opt to leave his squad down under and return to England as he continues his meticulous planning ahead of another exciting campaign for the Whites.

Bielsa is well known as someone who likes to go through things in the most detail he can, and while games in Australia against the likes of Man United are important, Bielsa will see the upcoming Championship campaign as the be all and end all.

The Whites missed out on promotion last season as they were seen off by Sheffield United in the run for automatic promotion, while Derby County put an end to their play-off hopes.

Leeds have embarked on a big money spinning tour of Australia as owner Andrea Radrizzani looks to continue to build the global brand of his club ahead of what he hopes will be a return to the Premier League in the not too distant future.

Bielsa was well known for his planning last season, which was brought to the public eye following on from the 'spygate' issue involving Derby and then manager, Frank Lampard.

The Verdict

This is not surprising in the slightest is it, let's be honest.

Bielsa is a man who loves football and loves the business end of things, so it's little surprise to see that he doesn't have much care for a tour of Australia.

His players won't be affected though, they'll know full well what the manager is all about, and they'll simply have to get on with things and get ready to return to action back in England.
