Marcelo Bielsa has stated that Leeds United have to learn after conceding two late goals at Elland Road.

The Whites were dominant for different periods in the match with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but couldn't quite make the breakthrough.

The Owls managed to produce a brilliant defensive performance, that resulted in two great goals late on to snatch all three points and condemn Leeds to just one win in their last seven games.

Leeds still sit in the automatic promotion places but the gap has closed to just six points after Brentford comfortably beat QPR on Saturday.

Bielsa has expressed that the Whites have been in this situation before and now focus on the avoidable goals that they're conceding.

Speaking to Leeds United's official website, Bielsa said: "This is a situation we have seen before.

"We have to learn if we have weak points in the performance in the match.

"This has happened a lot, we know we have to protect ourselves from those situations.

"We have to focus more on the avoidable goals and try to not receive those goals."

The Verdict

Leeds look like they're struggling every time they make a gap for themselves from 3rd place. The same thing happened last season, and it looks like it's going to happen again in this campaign.

The Whites are a good team, and play good football but there's still a mental block that they can't seem to get over and it is costing them a lot of points, especially in the final minutes.

Bielsa is adamant that his side must learn from it, but there seems to be more to it than just conceding sloppy goals. It always seems to be when the pressure is on that there is parts of the game where they begin to crumble. They need to change their mentality to ensure they gain promotion this season.
