Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has offered his verdict on Birmingham City ahead of his side's trip to St. Andrew's this weekend.

The Whites travel to the West Midlands on the back of an enthralling 3-2 home win over Millwall last weekend, a victory that saw Leeds climb into the automatic promotion spots at the expense of Sheffield United.

Bielsa's men will be looking right their wrongs from earlier on in the season, when Birmingham came to Elland Road and condemned the Whites to their first league defeat of the campaign.

Che Adams netted a quickfire first-half brace for Garry Monk's men, before Gjanni Alioski scored a late consolation for the Yorkshire club.

Speaking ahead of his side's return fixture, Bielsa offered high praise on Monk's Birmingham side, praising every area of the pitch in their team.

He said: "They have good strikers, good wingers, and very solid in defence. That they beat us [at Elland Road] is not the only reason to respect them."

After coming from behind to beat Millwall last time out, Leeds' confidence is likely to be sky high. The Whites sit 2nd in the Sky Bet Championship table, two points clear of the Blades.

The Verdict

I think this will be a really tough test for Leeds this weekend, as Birmingham will be desperate for points after their recent points deduction.

St. Andrew's isn't the easiest place to go to at the best of times, so they will be like a wounded animal this weekend as they look to climb away from the relegation zone.

Bielsa's men certainly have the quality to win this one, they just have to show the same character that they displayed against Millwall at the weekend.
