Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that director of football Victor Orta is the main man when it comes to bringing in players at Elland Road.

Despite suffering with a remarkable injury crisis that has impacted an already small squad, the Whites have yet to make an addition in the window and it has left some fans concerned.

And, Bielsa gave an insight into how the Yorkshire club operate, revealing to journalist Phil Hay that Orta will identify players who can be brought in, although the boss does have a role to play.

"He (Orta) proposes players to me. The one who is looking at the market is Victor. He tells me what the possibilities are. I give my point of view."

It remains to be seen whether Leeds do any business in the coming weeks but they head into Friday night's game with Derby on the back of three successive losses in all competitions.

They have also lost midfielder Lewis Baker who has returned to Chelsea after a poor loan spell, whilst Pablo Hernandez is a doubt for the clash against the Rams too.

The Verdict

In modern football you see the managers having less say on transfers, it happens at some of the biggest clubs in the world.

So, there's nothing really wrong with what Leeds are doing and Orta will clearly be searching for players that fit Bielsa's style of play.

Ultimately though, the fans want to see some action on the transfer front and failure to bring in the right quality this month could cost them in the promotion race.
