Exciting times are on the horizon at Elland Road, with Leeds United’s supporters delighted with the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa as the club’s head-coach.

Bielsa’s arrival has raised expectation levels at Elland Road, with the 62-year-old’s ruthlessness in dividing his squad a great start in shaping what supporters hope will be a promotion-winning group.

One man from the trimmed first-team squad Bielsa has assembled is Adam Forshaw, who has already spoken out about his excitement to play under the Argentine.

Forshaw might be looking forward to working under his new head-coach, but likewise, you’d expect Bielsa to be delighted at getting his hands on the talented midfielder, who he could build his side around.

The 26-year-old has the skill set to be so influential at Elland Road next season, with the midfielder already a fan favourite following his impact during the second-half of last season.

Forshaw made just 12 appearances for Leeds, tasting victory on two occasions. However, he deserved to be on the winning side more often than not, with his impressive work with an without the ball standing out.

He’s exactly the type of player Bielsa will love, particularly if the 62-year-old turns to his favoured 3-3-1-3 system.

Forshaw has the ability to play as Leeds’ lone central midfielder, where he will dictate play and help the Whites keep their shape. There is also the possibility that Bielsa could turn the 26-year-old into part of his back-three, as he has done with midfielders at his past clubs.

The arrival of the midfielder last January got Leeds’ supporters excited, and now, many are expecting Bielsa to build a much more competitive squad around the ex-Middlesbrough man, which will help him to thrive.

Bielsa is currently getting to know his squad, but having looked back over last season, he will have seen how influential Forshaw could be in the next 12 months.
