Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has jokingly claimed that there will be a character in series of the show named after Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa.

The Danish actor, who is a big Leeds fan, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday evening to discuss the new season of Game of Thrones.

The 48-year-old jokingly claimed that there would be a mythical figure appear in the show called 'Bielsa' after the Whites boss.

"There's also this thing about this guy called 'Bielsa', which is a guy who comes and magically transforms the world for the good," said the actor, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"He will, when everything is lost up north, he will magically transform the north into this magical paradise.

"It will happen. If everybody says, 'In Bielsa We Trust'. Can we all say that?

"It's Bielsa the Leeds manager, thank you very much," he then added.

This is not the first time the actor has referenced Leeds when talking about Game of Thrones, after he claimed that he learned his sword fighting technique from the club's former manager David Hockaday.

Leeds moved back into the Championship's automatic promotion places last night with a hard-fought 2-0 win over ten-man Preston North End at Deepdale.

Bielsa's side are currently two points ahead of third-placed Sheffield United, but the Blades can return to second place with three points again Birmingham City at St Andrew's tonight.

The Verdict

Bielsa is arguably the biggest managerial name to grace the Championship since Rafa Benitez led Newcastle to the title two seasons ago.

He has proved a hugely popular figure with both players and supporters since arriving at Elland Road and it seems Coster-Waldau is no different.

The Game of Thrones actor will be hoping that Leeds can finish the season with promotion to the Premier League.
