Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is demanding a consistent run from his side after they moved to the top of the Championship.

The Whites won 2-1 against the Latics this afternoon but that doesn't tell the story in what was a comfortable afternoon for Bielsa's men.

That saw Leeds leapfrog Norwich City into top spot and the Argentinian coach now wants his side to kick-on in what is a remarkably competitive division.

"In order to be first in the Championship we have to create a difference from the other teams and there are few points between the teams. We haven't done that so far," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"We did it at the beginning but we stopped doing it and if we want to reach what you're talking about, we have to show regularity in gaining points."

The Yorkshire club went into today's game with just three wins from their last ten, although they have had to contend with several injury issues.

Leeds are back in action on Saturday when they face a tough game against West Brom at The Hawthorns.

The Verdict

This is a good message from Bielsa and it proves that he still wants more from the side even after an impressive win.

You can't argue with what he says either as the league is extremely close and it's down to a team to break away from the pack with a consistent run.

There's no reason why Leeds can't be that team, particularly when you see how they played today.
