Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has said that the club are in need of a new goalkeeper and a new winger before the January transfer window shuts, reports Lee Sobot of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

But the Argentinian, speaking ahead of the Whites' FA Cup clash with Queens Park Rangers, also said that he believed the club have enough in their armoury to finish the job without new additions.

"Samu Saiz left, Pablo now plays as a playmaker and we need a winger," Bielsa said.

"The injury of Jamal Blackman has not been covered by another player.

"These are the two positions that were solved at the start of the competition and now we’re trying to find another one."

Saiz left on loan to Getafe at the start of the month whilst Jamal Blackman broke his leg in an under-23's match after arriving on loan from Chelsea for the season.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been the number one choice in goal for the majority of the season now, but reinforcements are still needed.

The Whites sit top of the Championship table after 26 matches, two points clear of second-placed Norwich City and four ahead of third-placed Sheffield United.

The verdict

This will be music to the ears of many Leeds fans.

As happy as they have been with Bielsa's work on the pitch, his work done in the transfer market has left many of them worried that they are badly under-staffed in certain areas.

A goalkeeper and a winger would be a good start, but the defence badly needs work as well, with plenty of players having to play out of position.
