Marcelo Bielsa has held a meeting with Leeds United's Tyler Roberts about improving his current form for the promotion-chasing Whites according to a report from Football Insider.

Roberts made his first two league starts for the Whites against QPR and Blackburn Rovers in recent weeks, and play his part as Leeds picked up maximum points heading into the international break.

He has previously been sidelined with injury, but will be hoping that he can make up for lost time in Bielsa's squad as soon as possible.

A source reportedly revealed to Football Insider that Bielsa is keen to see Roberts add more goals to his game and show consistency on a regular basis to earn a starting spot in the Leeds team for the foreseeable future.

Roberts scored three goals last season for Leeds as they narrowly missed out on promotion, but looked impressive towards the end of last year's campaign, as he played as a midfielder.

He'll be hoping to prove to the Leeds boss that he is worthy of a regular starting spot in the Leeds squad as they look to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Leeds are next in action after the international break when they travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town in a game where Bielsa's side will be expected to pick up another three points.

The Verdict:

I'm really surprised by this, and can't imagine this is true surely?

Roberts hasn't been given much of a chance to impress for Leeds this season, and I think he's been impressive when Bielsa has called on him.

He offers the creative spark for Leeds alongside Pablo Hernandez and will be hoping that he can play a starring role in their promotion bid this term in the Championship.
