Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has heaped praise on Pablo Hernandez following the Spaniard’s midweek display against Reading, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The winger scored twice, taking his tally to ten league goals for the season, as the Whites saw off Jose Gomes’ side 3-0 at the Madjeski.

“Pablo finds solutions that are above his technical skills,” Bielsa said.

“He reads the game and when he does this, he puts the ball in the right places.

“It’s something that’s very hard to teach and something that’s very hard to learn.”

The match was over by half-time in an incredibly one sided affair, with Mateusz Klich setting the tone, finding the net on the 14th minute, finishing cooly from Luke Ayling’s cutback.

Hernandez killed the game off on his own, first curling home a brilliant effort to make it 2-0 before adding a third two minutes before half-time time, with a brutal low finish.

It is a result that sees the Whites climb back to the summit of the Championship table ahead of this weekend’s crunch match with Sheffield United.

The verdict

Hernandez is a Premier League player playing in the Championship really.

Bielsa’s coaching has obviously had a huge impact on Leeds this season but when some individual brilliance is needed to dig them out of a rut, Hernandez is there.

Having a player of that calibre could prove the difference during the season run-in.
