Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has had his say on promotion rivals Sheffield United ahead of the final weeks of the promotion.

The two clubs have been chopping and changing in the race for automatic promotion but Bielsa does not believe that anything is decided until the final day of the season.

"During the season all the teams are living similar situations," he told his pre-match press conference, according to Lee Sobot of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"All with some injuries, with some positive and negative results.

"All teams suffer injuries and losing players. At the end, you have the table."

The Whites bounced back into the top two last weekend following a 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road.

This Friday sees them welcome Wigan Athletic to Yorkshire before travelling to Griffin Park on Monday evening to face Brentford in what is sure to be a real test for them.

Elsewhere in the promotion race, the Blades come up against Nottingham Forest and Hull whilst Norwich City clash with Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke.

The verdict

This is the right thing to say, but is it actually what Bielsa thinks?

I would imagine that a man who takes pride in looking into teams in such detail would have a good idea of how he sees the rest of the season unfolding.

Although obviously it makes complete sense that he would keep that to himself.
