Leeds United drew 1-1 with Leeds United this afternoon to confirm Sheffield United's return to the Premier League.

In a fiery game at Elland Road marred by incidents aplenty, the Whites and manager Marcelo Bielsa did indeed come out of the game with plenty of credit thanks to the Argentinian's gesture of letting Villa walk in the equalising goal.

And that praise came in from plenty of different places, including former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who spoke fondly of the decision made by Bielsa and insisted that it should be something the world needs to see an applaud.

"I would like to say 'thank you' to the manager of Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa,” he told beIN Sports via a report by the Sunday Express.

"It's a remarkable gesture. They are playing to come up to the Premier League and there is something at stake. It's totally remarkable and the whole world has to watch that."

Those sentiments were echoed by Villa manager Dean Smith, who also spoke of his respect towards Bielsa for making such a massive decision in a crucial game.

With Leeds 1-0 up, it would have been a result which would have ensured the promotion race at least went to the final day. However, Bielsa's decision - something that wasn't appreciated by Pontus Jansson - allowed Villa to get the goal which sent Sheffield United up.
