So far this summer we’ve seen Leeds United make good use of the loan market ahead of the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship season.

Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman have arrived on-loan from Chelsea, bolstering Marcelo Bielsa’s squad and representing strong additions at Elland Road.

Another player Leeds could look to lure into the Championship on-loan is Ben Woodburn, an exciting talent who has made a good impression at Liverpool and with the Welsh national side.

A number of the Premier League’s talented players will be heading out on-loan in the coming weeks, and Woodburn could well be available, with competition in Liverpool’s squad fierce.

The 18-year-old has 11 appearances under his belt already for Liverpool, with the midfielder returning one goal, which coincidently came against Leeds in the League Cup.

His early career form has seen him earn a call-up to the Wales squad, with Woodburn capped six times by his country already.

The teenager has been featuring for Liverpool in pre-season, with Jurgen Klopp giving Woodburn an opportunity to impress in a deeper midfield role, as he looks to find the best position to aid the Welshman’s development.

We’ve previously seen Woodburn shine as a winger, which is where he could be so influential under Bielsa at Leeds.

If Leeds can play football at a high-tempo, it would suit Woodburn, who would have the perfect platform to excel.

Leeds securing the Liverpool ace on a season-long loan could be so beneficial for all parties involved.

Bielsa would be getting his hands on a real talent, whilst Woodburn would be working under an exciting head-coach.

From Liverpool’s perspective, they could see how a young player manages himself in front of expectant supporters.

It’s been a shrewd, but slow, summer so far for Leeds, but landing Woodburn’s signature could be the shrewdest move the Whites make ahead of next season.
