This weekend sees the start of the Championship play-offs and all the drama, jubilation and despair that comes with it, with Derby County versus Leeds United the most eye-catching.

Following a season full of drama between the pair it remains to be seen how this one will swing and Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa believes "it's possible" that his opponents will use the history of the tie as a source of motivation, reports Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

There is no love lost between the two sides following the Spygate saga that engulfed the build up to their January clash, a topic that continues to rear its head.

It is the Whites who head into the match with the better head-to-head record having already beaten the Rams 2-0 and 4-0 this season, however, Frank Lampard boasts the in form team having lost just once in their 12 previous matches.

In the other half of the play-offs, local rivals Aston Villa welcome West Bromwich Albion to Villa Park.

The verdict

I get the feeling that Derby will have learned their lessons from the 2-0 defeat earlier in the season.

You could tell from that match that the drama surrounding Spygate had failed to work as motivation for his players and seemed to unsettle them more than anything.

It is surely crucial that they focus on playing to their best and nothing else.
