Queens Park Rangers’ trip to south Wales on Tuesday night ended in a stalemate as the R’s played out a 0-0 draw against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Despite having 16 shots on goal during the contest, Mark Warburton’s side could not find a way through, and the result extends their winless league run to four games.
QPR now sit in 17th place in the Championship table, with two difficult games against Stoke and Nottingham Forest on the horizon.
QUIZ: Can you name these 12 obscure QPR players?
Midfielder Marc Pugh played the full ninety minutes for QPR on the left hand side, and showed his qualities during the course of the game.
The 32-year-old took to Instagram to react to the team’s performance and the full-time result.
The stalwart stated that his side “should have won the game” but hailed the point as being an important one in terms of the position QPR find themselves in.
Pugh has not been a regular feature of Mark Warburton’s side so far this season, and has been predominantly used as an option off the bench.
The Swansea game was his first league start since Boxing Day – a 1-0 defeat to Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
Pugh’s analysis is correct, as QPR were the more threatening side over the course of the game, and they will be disappointed not to take all three points.
In terms of the season, however, it could to be an important point considering the side’s current league position.
Mark Warburton no doubt will want to improve on that, but QPR’s form needs to turn. The R’s have now taken just 8 points from their last 33 on offer.
