Mansfield have turned down two bids

The duo both impressed during the Nottinghamshire club's return season in the Football League where the Stags finished 11th in League Two. Versatile defender Tafazolli has been heavily linked with a move to Scotland with Mansfield revealing that Dundee United were the latest side after his services. Winger Clucas was heavily linked with Nottingham Forest last summer, however it has been revealed that it is an unnamed League One side who made the offer.

Clucas joined Mansfield from Conference side Hereford United last summer after turning down Crewe Alexandra. He scored 8 times in 38 appearances in the Stags' midfield, impressing scouts from higher up the Football League in the process. Clucas won the Emma Stamp Memorial Trophy, the prize for most man-of-the-match awards, in the club's end of season awards. The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest prospects currently playing in League Two.

Tafazolli joined Mansfield in the summer of 2012 where he helped the club win the Conference Premier title. At 6ft5, the former Southampton youngster offers a physical presence from either central defence or right-back. He finally broke into manager Paul Cox's first XI in the second half of last season where he eventually made 24 league appearances. Dundee United have been undeterred by the League Two side rejecting an initial offer around a week ago and could still bid again.

With Mansfield reportedly struggling for funds last season, something which hindered their January transfer activity, they could be tempted to cash in on their prize assets. It may take further interest in the duo to prise them away from Field Mill.
