It has been a busy start to the summer transfer window for League Two outfit Mansfield Town and in signing 10 players already, the Stags have really set their stall out to be at the forefront of the promotion picture during the 2017/18 campaign.

In Steve Evans they have a man in charge who has won countless promotions during his career in management and it is really exciting times for supporters of the East Midlands-based club.

The Stags were in decent form under Evans during the second half of last season and although they ran out of steam when it came to clinching a top seven place, the football that they produced still suggested that they can go well next time around.

It doesn't look as though the Stags will be quite finished in the transfer market just yet and after releasing last season's top scorer, Matt Green, there looks to be a void to fill in the shape of a leading marksman before they can call themselves contenders for the title.

One man who would certainly bolster the striking options at the One Call Stadium is target man Alex Revell, who spent time playing under Evans at Rotherham United and their relationship whilst at the New York Stadium could be a key component of any deal being agreed.

The Northampton Town striker netted 10 goals in all competitions last season and if Evans can lure him into his project at Mansfield Town it would have to be seen as a real coup for a League Two club.

If the Stags can make Revell part of their summer recruitment drive he would become the third player to make the switch from the Cobblers with Zander Diamond and Paul Anderson having already made the switch to the One Call Stadium.

Mansfield Town fans, would you welcome Revell to the club? Which other striker would you like to see the club sign? Let us know in the comments below!!!
