The Stags are fourth in the League Two table after Saturday's emphatic 3-0 victory over basement boys Newport County, and are just four points away from the top spot.

With many pundits and ex-professionals backing the Yellows for a season of struggle on the pitch, Murray is hopeful that his team can continue sliding under the radar.

Murray told the Mansfield Chad: "I love it at the minute. We are little old Mansfield just chugging along and no one cares about us.

"Our players aren't getting the credit they deserve at the minute and it's brilliant. Let's go under the radar.

"We know how good our players have been, not just in the month gone but for the season so far. We are a quarter of the way through and the boys have been fantastic."

Murray did admit that the hard work starts now for his players and that intensity levels must continue to improve.

He continued: "All the signs are positive at the minute. But we have to make sure this intense focus, the tempo of our work and our intensity gets even higher now. Everything will go up a notch."

The Stags will be hoping to close the gap on Plymouth at the top of League Two when Bristol Rovers travel to the One Call Stadium on Saturday.
