Mansfield Town have made a double swoop in signing Stevenage’s Chris Beardsley and former Leicester City striker Adi Yussuf, reports the Nottingham Post.
And young defender Liam Marsden has signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 2016.
Yussuf, 23, has joined Mansfield on a free transfer from Conference North side Oxford City, where he scored 26 times last season.
The Tanzanian striker began his career at Leicester but never made a first-team appearance and left to join Burton Albion in the summer of 2011.
He made 31 appearances for the Brewers in two years before joining Lincoln City in 2013 and went on to enjoy loan spells at Gainsborough Trinity, Harrogate Town and Histon.
31-year-old Beardsley is returning for a third spell at Field Mill after being released by Stevenage.
He began his career at Mansfield and left in 2004 only to return a year later after spells at Doncaster Rovers and Kidderminster Harriers.
The striker then left again in 2007 and went on to play for Rushden & Diamonds, York City, Kettering Town, Preston, Bristol Rovers as well as two spells with Stevenage.
