As per Wales Online, Manchester United are among the clubs looking at defender Joe Rodon from Swansea City after an impressive season in the heart of the defence for the Welsh side.

The Swans have had a good campaign so far and will want the season to resume as soon as possible in order to get themselves back on track in terms of a play-off challenge.

Certainly, they have the quality in order to do so but the worry will be that, if they cannot get promoted, some of their bright young players will have to leave in order to keep the books balanced.

Rodon, then, could be one man to leave in order to bring in a fee, with United apparently keen on him as well as city rivals Manchester City.

Already capped more than once by Wales, he's a good young defender and could well be on the brink of a big move.

The Verdict

Rodon has certainly impressed this season with his work at the back for Swansea and it does seem likely that he could play in the Premier League before too long.

The Swans will hope that they can offer him that at the end of the campaign but, if they can't, it seems as though some of England's biggest clubs are circling.
