Manchester United set to recall loan man from Championship club

Manchester United are set to end Cameron Borthwick-Jackson’s nightmare loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers by recalling him prematurely, according to The Telegraph.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson joined Wolves in the summer on a season-long loan but he has been frozen out by new manager Paul Lambert and hardly played for the Midlands outfit in his half season in the Championship.

Jose Mourinho was apparently very unhappy with Wolves over the Borthwick-Jackson situation and reportedly refused to send Sam Johnstone to Molineux on loan because of it.

Sam Johnstone has instead signed for Aston Villa on a temporary deal.

Borthwick-Jackson has played just 6 times in the league for Wolves this season and his last appearance in gold and black came in late November.

The 19-year-old was out of favour under Lambert despite Manchester United rating the England youth international very highly.

It remains to be seen whether Borthwick-Jackson will be sent elsewhere on loan or whether he will stay at Manchester United.
