Clough has enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Trotters making his first team league debut on 31st January 2015 where he went on to score a brace in a 2 - 2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers - since then he went on to score five goals in seven appearances in the league.

He joined the Bolton academy at the age of 8 and now 20 will be hoping for regular first team football next season. He signed a contract extension until 2017 last season which will come as a relief to Bolton fans who will no doubt want to keep hold of their talented youngster.

When asked about the attention surrounding the youngster, Clough told the Daily Star: "It was so surreal to hear myself being talked about on Match of the Day. To see my face on TV and have Gary Lineker praising me was just a bit mad."

He then went on to say: "However, my family will keep me grounded. I like to think I have got both feet on the ground anyway and that's down to my dad especially. Besides, I am still living at home at the moment."

Even though United are tracking the youngster, it seems that they will wait and scout him further into next season before a formal approach is made, to see if he can carry on the superb form he showed briefly last campaign.

Bolton fans..... What do you make of Clough's potential departure? Do you see him being able to perform at the higher level? Are you pleased with the business that your club have done so far? Please leave your comments and responses below.
