Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Reading youngster Danny Loader in the January transfer window according to Sky Sports.

The 19-year-old's contract at the Royals runs out this summer, and with talks having broken down at the Berkshire club it's likely that Reading will look to cash in during January.

Loader almost found himself on the way out of Reading in the summer when Wolves came in for the young star but with the striker at Wolves' training ground, the Royals pulled out of the sale at the very last minute.

He is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the division and has played for all of the England youth sides from under-16 to under-20's and featured for the under-20's in the current international break.

It's clear that he has a big future ahead of him, and it is now up to the player and his agent to decide where he will be playing his football in the coming years.

The Verdict

Loader has been one of the most highly-rated players at Reading for a couple of years now, and it seems he's fallen down the pecking order in terms of getting first-team football.

The forward massively affected the fan relationship he had with the club when he failed to get his summer move over the line, and ever since it has looked pretty clear that the Royals would offload the player instead of him signing a new contract.

There could well be a bidding war for the player, with no side wanting the player to leave on a free and join anyone. Manchester United are trying to sign more young English players so it wouldn't surprise me to see this move happen.
