The 20-year-old broke into the Old Trafford first team this season and featured heavily in their pre-season games against the likes of Real Madrid, Roma, Liverpool and Inter.

He impressed at the start of the Premier League season as he covered for the injured Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo. He hasn’t featured since a defeat to Southampton, but was handed a further two year deal in January.
