Manchester United recall midfielder from League One club

Joe Rothwell has been recalled by parent club Manchester United from his loan at Sky Bet League One side Barnsley, according the official club website.

Rothwell, 20, who has represented England all the way up to under-20 level has returned to the Premier League side after contracting a severe bout of Tonsillitis.
Rothwell joined the League One outfit in July on a six month loan deal, but has returned to Manchester where he will have an operation to have his tonsils removed.
The central midfielder had made seven appearances for the Tykes, with his last outing coming in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second round win over Scunthorpe.
Speaking on the official website, a spokesperson for Barnsley said “We would like to thank Joe for his services and wish him a speedy recovery.”
Team mate and fellow loanee Ben Pearson will remain at Oakwell as part of the agreed loan deal that will run till January 3rd.
