Manchester United are considering recalling striker James Wilson from his loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, just a week after manager Louis van Gaal ruled that move out, according to Football Insider.

The United squad is going through an unprecedented injury crisis this season, arguably the worst that the famous club has ever suffered.

Last week, first team regulars David de Gea and Wayne Rooney were added to the list, with the England captain set to miss up to two months with a knee injury.

Elsewhere on the striker front, the Red Devils are without Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj after the latter was injured following his recall from a loan at Borussia Dortmund, whilst Will Keane was injured during Monday's FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury.

Keane came on for United's now only fit striker Anthony Martial in the second half, before suffering a groin injury in minutes.

Memphis Depay can play as a striker for United, although he has been fairly disappointing since his high-profile move to Old Trafford last summer.

Their current injury crisis is ironic considering in Summer 2014 they let Danny Welbeck go to Arsenal and this summer Javier Hernandez completed a move to Bayer Leverkusen, leaving Rooney and Martial their only senior strikers in the squad.

Wilson hasn't impressed as many thought he would do during his time at the Amex Stadium, scoring just three times in 12 appearances for the Seagulls.

However, should Wilson return to Manchester, it may leave the South-East side short up front, so Chris Hughton may consider having strengthen in the remainder of the emergency loan window.

The Seagulls currently occupy fourth spot in the Sky Bet Championship, having accumulated 57 points from 32 league games so far this season.

Brighton fans, what do you think? Will you miss Wilson should he return to Manchester United? Who would you want, if any, as a replacement for the remainder of the season? Let us know in the comments below!
