Manchester United could be set to make a swoop on Bristol City for young striker Antoine Semenyo.

The 18-year-old is widely regarded by many inside the camp at Ashton Gate as one of the best up and coming talents at the club, and he is currently enjoying a loan spell in League Two with Newport County.

However, according to the Express, Semenyo could soon be on his way to Old Trafford, with Bristol City loan manager Brian Tinnion saying that United sent scouts to watch the youngster play for Newport, with the Premier League giants reportedly very keen on making a move.

Semenyo has notched five times this season and has become as regular for his loan club down in the fourth tier, with Bristol manager Lee Johnson no doubt keeping a close eye on things in terms of Semenyo's development.

News of any potential move from United though is likely to put Johnson on edge somewhat, as Johnson will know that any form of concrete bid will be hard to turn down, while Semenyo will no doubt be keen to take the opportunity should it arise.

The Verdict

This one looks like it's already got the wheels set in motion, and it's hard to see how Bristol will be able to keep hold of their teenage talent if United do come knocking.

Semenyo is clearly a talent, and while he will be enjoying his time down in League Two, he just isn't going to turn down a move to the Red Devils if it comes along.
