The youngster, who made his debut for Wolves' under-21s last season at just 15, has been training with the first-team ever since his 16th birthday.

Ennis has previously argued that he is not yet the finished article and that he has a long way to go to become a top player. Whilst this may be true, he has been subject to a great deal of Premier League interest thanks to his quality performances for both club and country.

The starlet is continuing to impress his peers as he makes his way through the ranks not only at club level, but also for his country.

Netting his first goal for England under-17's this month against a strong Portugal side was an achievement that has caught the eye of a number of top-flight clubs.

The likes of Manchester City and Chelsea have been tracking the youngster, but it's Manchester United who seem likely to lure the youngster away from Wolves in an attempt to bolster their youth set-up.

Speaking to Wolves PlayerHD last week about his objectives, Ennis said: "I just want to make it as a footballer, that's the dream.

"Obviously a lot of players in this position will think they're already there, but training with the first team shows you how far you are from it - but also that you can achieve it."

Looking for future first-team stars, Manchester United will certainly look to test the resolve of Wolves as the Championship club strive to hold onto their starlet.

Whether the youngster feels that he has a greater chance of progression at the Championship club is unclear, but with the lure of working at one of the top clubs in the world, it remains to be seen whether Ennis will be keen on a move away from Wolves at such a young age.
