Talented midfielder Ben Pearson is being closely monitored by Simon Grayson’s Preston, amid speculation over a potential loan move from Premier League giants Manchester United, according to sports journalist Alan Nixon.
The 20-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan at League One side Barnsley, and stood out in a struggling team, so a move to the Championship would be an obvious next step for his development.
“One day hopefully when he’s writing his book after a great career he’ll mention us all.”
Louis van Gaal may potentially be reluctant to let Pearson leave again as he requires cover for the first-team, but if the situation changes over January then he may become available for North End to pounce.
Preston have surprised many this season and sit comfortably in mid-table, 10 points clear of the relegation zone in 15th place.
Grayson will hope that with the right additions over the next month, Preston can continue to defy the doubters, and have no relegation concerns come the end of the season.
