Demetri Mitchell is a target for Bolton Wanderers, according to reports.

Manchester United defender Mitchell is being eyed by Bolton for a potential loan deal but the Championship club face competition from Heart of Midlothian.

Hearts, who play in the Scottish Premiership, had Mitchell on loan last season and he played 12 times, scoring once, after his January switch.

The 21-year-old has featured for Jose Mourinho's side in pre-season but with game time looking limited this season, he will be allowed to leave on loan.

The loan window does not end today, unlike with permanent transfers, so Bolton do not need to rush this transfer through.

The England youth international plays as a left-back and has played once for Man United in his career.

Bolton are looking for a cheap left-back this summer after last season's star performer Antonee Robinson returned to his parent club Everton.

Robinson has been a target for the Trotters but Mitchell has emerged as an alternative option.

The Verdict

Mitchell has a bright future and a year at Bolton could bring his game on so much.

Bolton are likely to be spending a lot of time defending so that will put the young full-back to the test against some talented Championship wingers.

But Phil Parkinson also plays a counter-attacking game so Mitchell can show off his attacking talents too if he moves to Bolton.
