Manchester United could reignite their interest in Watford winger Ismaila Sarr this summer, according to the Express.

Watford - who brought Sarr in for a club-record fee of £40million from Rennes last season - managed to keep hold of the winger despite their relegation from the Premier League.

United were among those looking to acquire Sarr's signature, with former Watford technical director Filippo Giraldi recently admitting that the Red Devils were "extremely close" to signing the attacker in the summer.

But according to the Express, United could revisit their interest in Sarr this summer, as they consider potential alternatives for Jadon Sancho.

United are reportedly keen to bring in both Erling Haland and Sancho this summer, but they may only be able to afford one of those players.

Sarr has scored nine goals and chipped in with a number of assists for Watford this season, and has been a key player in their push for an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Verdict

This all depends on whether Watford get promoted or not.

If they don't go up, then there is absolutely no chance that Watford will be able to keep hold of Sarr for another season. He is an outstanding player who cost so much money not so long ago.

If they do go up, then they may have a better chance of keeping him, but I think the size and financial power of United could still prove to be the biggest factor.
