Manchester United have delivered an offer of over £30million for Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to Sky Sports.

Bellingham has made a real impact for the Blues this season, with Pep Clotet having given the 16-year-old a chance to earn regular minutes in midfield for Birmingham in the Championship – and he has become a crucial part of the midfield scoring four goals in 25 league appearances.

The midfielder’s form has seen him be linked with potential a move to Manchester United, and the Blues would have been hopeful of keeping hold of him during the January transfer window, as Clotet looks to find greater consistency from his side.

However, Manchester United have potentially now stepped up their interest with a multi-million offer, and the Blues could struggle to turn that down for the 16-year-old, considering they were deducted nine points last season for breaching financial rules.

The verdict

Birmingham would probably be rightly reluctant to allow Bellingham to leave the at this stage of the January transfer window, with the Blues not really having long now to find and secure a potential replacement for the midfielder before Deadline Day.

Bellingham gas been a crucial part of their side throughout the campaign, as he showed against Cardiff last weekend arriving late into the box to give Clotet’s side the lead early on, and Birmingham would miss his presence and energy were they to sell him before the end of the window.

However, it would be really difficult for the Blues to turn down such an offer from Manchester United, and Birmingham could potentially use some of the money they receive to strengthen the squad in other areas during the last few days of the transfer window, or even in the summer.

For Bellingham as well it would be difficult to turn down a chance to move to one of the Premier League’s top six sides, although he will perhaps need to consider whether he would command regular minutes straight away, though by making such an offer United are seemingly confident he can make an impact.
