Manchester United want to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant this summer, according to a report by The Telegraph.
The Red Devils are eyeing Grant as their potential third choice goalkeeper for next season, behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero.
This could mean that former Aston Villa loanee Sam Johnstone is set to depart the club with 21-year-old Joel Castro Pereira also likely to follow new Sheffield United recruit Dean Henderson out on loan.
Man United want a third stopper to provide depth in that department and Grant has been identified as a target.
The 35-year-old has plenty of experience, having played for Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley before joining Stoke.
Having previously turned in a man of the match performance against Man United at Old Trafford back in 2016, the former England youth international is being lined up by the Premier League giants.
Grant is likely to join Man United on a free transfer and pen a one-year deal.
This could be one last payday for Grant, who is coming towards the end of his career.
This is his big chance to win some silverware, although he is unlikely to get any playing time.
However, the veteran stopper might look at Jack Butland’s likely exit from Stoke this summer and eye a starting spot under Gary Rowett.
