Manchester United have completed the signing of Swansea winger Daniel James, with the speedy winger signing a five-year deal at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough year with the Swans, which saw him emerge as one of the most talented players outside the top-flight.
And, that form caught the eye with a host of Premier League sides showing an interest in James, who started for Wales twice over the recent international break.
However, it became clear over the past few weeks that United would win the race for the player and the move was announced on the Swans official site this afternoon.
They state that an undisclosed fee has been agreed with the Red Devils and they confirmed that a long-term deal had been signed by the youngster with his new club.
“We have spoken on numerous occasions how important it is for this football club to put itself back on a sound financial footing following relegation. This transfer will help us do that and continue the rebuilding process.”
This has been on the cards for a while now and everyone will be glad that it’s finally sorted now that James’ season has finished.
It’s a huge step up for the player but one that he is capable of doing as he appears to have a strong mentality and his quality is clear to see.
For Swansea, the funds are much-needed, although they will struggle to replace the rapid winger.
