Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a £15million deal to sign highly-rated Swansea City winger Daniel James, according to Sky Sports News.
The 21-year-old has burst onto the scene this season under Graham Potter at the Liberty Stadium, scoring four goals and assisting nine more in 33 Championship appearances, five in all competitions.
Leeds United came within a whisker of landing James back in the January transfer window but the South Wales side backed out of a deal at the very last second.
It is a season that has also seen the Welshman break into Ryan Giggs’ national side, making his debut in a 1-0 loss to Albania back in November before scoring his first goal in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia in March.
If the deal goes through for the expected price, James will join Alfie Mawson as the club’s fifth largest ever sale, trailing Gylfi Sigurdsson, Wilfried Bony, Andre Ayew and Joe Allen.
I think this is a brilliant signing for United.
It certainly isn’t the big name many of their fans will have perhaps wanted to see but James is a serious talent with a fantastic attitude as well.
Hopefully, he will be given a chance under Solskjaer because if he does I fully expect him to shine.
