Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool are both keen on signing Birmingham City starlet Romello Mitchell.

Still only 15, Mitchell has been hugely impressive for the Blues' under-18 set up this season, bagging goals against both the Reds and Red Devils, and according to Alan Nixon, the Premier League duo are keen on the youngster.

Mitchell would be allowed to leave the club for a small compensation fee if he does decide to move on, with the striker not due to turn 16 until the new year.

Both United and Liverpool are keen on adding the countries top young talent to their squads when they can, and Mitchell fits the bill, having put in some superb displays for the Birmingham youth teams this term and playing in age groups beyond his tender years.

Birmingham themselves will no doubt be keen to keep hold of one of their top talents, but will be fully aware that Premier League opportunity and money can talk, meaning Mitchell could well be tempted should interest become concrete.

The Blues won yesterday to move closer to the top six to put to bed last weekend's derby day defeat to Aston Villa.
