Manchester United and Leeds United have both been linked with a swoop for Norwegian wonder-kid Erling Braut Haaland.

According to The Star, Man United sent scouts to watch Haaland in action recently and Leeds are also keen on him.

The 17-year-old sensation is already making strides in senior football back in Norway and impressed in front of the Red Devils' representatives.

In a league match against top of the table Brann, Haaland netted four goals in 21 minutes as they won the match 4-0.

This was done in front of Man United scout Tommy Moller Nielsen and Haaland plays under former Man United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for Molde.

The Norway under-19 international now has six goals in 13 games for Molde's first-team and he has also netted five goals in three games for his country at age group level.

He is the son of former Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Manchester City midfielder Alfe Inge Haaland, who has a long-running dispute with Man United midfielder Roy Keane after being on the receiving end of some horror tackles from the Irishman.

While at Leeds, he suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury as a result of a Keane tackle and links of his son joining the Premier League giants are likely to spark some heated debates.

The Verdict

Haaland is a prolific striker at age group level and he is already starring in the Norwegian leagues with players many years his senior.

While there is still a long way to go before he is a top Leeds player, Haaland has all the ingredients to become the next star at Elland Road.

He could follow in his father's footsteps in joining Leeds.
