Premier League champions Manchester City are considering making a move for Fulham defender Antonee Robinson this summer as they aim to strengthen their left-back options, per The Sun.

Robinson delivered some promising performances for Fulham in the Premier League in his first season with the club following his move from Wigan Athletic last summer.

The USA international made 28 appearances in total in the top-flight and he proved himself to a player good enough to perform at the highest level despite being part of a relegated side.

According to the latest report from The Sun, Manchester City are now eyeing a potential move for him as Pep Guardiola looks to shake up his options in the full-back position.

It is believed that Robinson might be content to swap his guaranteed starting role for Fulham with more of a supporting role at Manchester City.

The report adds that Fulham would be aiming to secure a fee of around £10 million for his services if Manchester City were to come in with any formal offer for him this summer. That is a fee that the Premier League champions would be willing to pay out for the 23-year-old as they aim to find the right option to provide cover at left-back.

The verdict

This would be a spectacular move for Robinson and you could not see him wanting to stick around at Fulham next season if he does have the option of making the switch to Premier League champions Manchester City, The USA international has already previously missed out on a dream move to AC Milan and he will not be wanting the same thing to happen again here.

Robinson is a player with a lot of qualities that would see him suited to Manchester City, he has lots of ability on the ball and also has real athleticism and can get forwards on the overlap from the left-hand side time and time again. You could see his game coming on a lot under the guidance of Guardiola and he would flourish at the Etihad Stadium for sure.

This is a move that it would be hard for Fulham to begrudge Robinson, and it perhaps showed how well they did in securing his signature last summer. You would expect that if Manchester City really are interested then the £10 million valuation of Fulham is something they will pay to get the player in that they want in that left-back position.
