Gomez is now on the radar of Manchester City

At just the age of 17, he has managed to make 17 appearances for Guy Luzon’s Charlton Athletic first-team this season, and he looks set for a excellent future in professional football.

The publication claims that Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City have now entered the race to sign the coveted defender, and will look to beat Arsenal and Tottenham to the signing of the Addicks full-back.

The youngster was part of the England under-17 side that won the European Championships in Malta last year, and his impressive displays there certainly caught the eye.

Gomez can be utilised as either a right-back or as a centre-back, so he would add a new element to the defence of any side he joined.

The Addicks currently sit in 10th place in the Sky Bet Championship, having accumulated 60 points from 44 league games thus far this season.
