Premier League champions Manchester City are weighing up a £7m offer for Swansea star Daniel James in the summer after his impressive recent form.

The 21-year-old has been outstanding for Graham Potter's side and caught the eye for Wales over the international break, scoring his first goal for his country as they beat Slovakia on Sunday.

A failed January move to Leeds hasn't impacted the youngster, who boasts blistering pace and is improving his productivity in front of goal now as well.

That's attracted interest from City according to the Sun, who claim that Pep Guardiola's side are one of several top-flight teams monitoring the player.

James will enter the final year of his contract at the Liberty Stadium in the summer which could force the Swans to cash in on their star asset.

The report states that a £7m offer could be enough to tempt the Championship side to sell - similar to what Leeds were expected to pay in the winter window.

He recently starred for the Swans against City in the FA Cup, which the Citizens came from behind to win 3-2.

The Verdict

Anyone who has seen James play will recognise that this is a player who can go all the way to the top as he is incredibly quick and can beat players for fun.

When you add in that his contract is approaching the final 12 months then he really could be a bargain for someone.

Whether City is the right move in terms of first-team opportunities is debatable but it would be tough for the player to turn them down if an offer materialises.
