Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn Rovers are set to complete the loan signing of Manchester City defender Tosin Adarabioyo, according to reputable journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Tony Mowbray's side have been reasonably active in the summer transfer window thus far, with Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Christian Walton set to sign on a season-long deal too.

It looks as if Rovers are set to complete another Premier League loan signing too, with Adarabioyo set to put pen to paper on a loan deal at Ewood Park.

The 21-year-old is no stranger to the Championship, having made 36 appearances in all competitions on loan with West Bromwich Albion last season.

The centre-half, who can also operate as a full-back, put in a series of impressive performances for the Baggies, who narrowly missed out on promotion via the Championship play-offs.

At 6-foot-5, Adarabioyo would certainly add a physical presence to a Blackburn defence that conceded 69 goals in the Championship last term, as Tony Mowbray's side look to form a play-off push in 2019/20.

The Verdict

Adarabioyo sometimes flattered to deceive last season, but on the whole, he was a very good player for West Brom and he proved to be a very good loan signing.

He is quick, he wins no end of aerial duels, and he can also play the ball out from the back with ease, so on a loan deal, I think that this would be a very shrewd addition for Mowbray's side.

With Darragh Lenihan being linked with moves away from Ewood Park previously, Adarabioyo would certainly add some competition to their back-line.
