Premier League runners-up Manchester City have agreed a fee with Fulham to sign highly-promising winger Patrick Roberts, according to the Mirror.
It is understood that the 18-year-old has rejected a new contract from the Cottagers in order to push through the £8m move.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to loan Roberts to a Championship club should the deal be completed, prompting Fulham to request that he returns to Craven Cottage next season.
The England U19 international made 20 appearances for Fulham last term, and had been seen as an important member of the squad.
Manager Kit Symons was quoted last week as being confident of keeping Roberts at the club, although it appears that he has lost the battle to retain the player’s services.
The Citizens need to fulfil a quota of homegrown players for next season and signing Roberts will help them to increase their number of English playing staff.
