Hull City boss Nigel Adkins insists that there have been no offers for Jarrod Bowen yet but isn't concerned about the speculation surrounding his star man.

The 22-year-old has had an outstanding campaign so far, with his match-winning brace against Leeds United last time out taking him to ten goals for the season.

Therefore, it's not been a surprise to see him linked with a move away from the Tigers.

Championship leaders Leeds, along with Premier League Tottenham have been linked with a big-money move for the talented winger.

However, Adkins told the BBC that such rumours are actually a good thing for Hull - as it proves they've got a quality player:

"It's good to have speculation because it means that we have players that are doing well.

"He is under contract so obviously the owners have a decision to make if, and I'm saying if, people make offers. And as far as I'm aware there hasn't been any offers for him, so it is all speculation.

"There is no decision to make at this moment in time, so let's be positive that he is staying."

Hull will be hoping for a fifth successive Championship win tomorrow when they host struggling Bolton, in a game that Bowen is expected to start.

The Verdict

Adkins has a point here and having a player linked with Spurs shows how highly Bowen is rated in the football world.

Obviously, it's still a major concern that he will leave but that's inevitable.

You can't stop players wanting to further their careers and most realistic fans will understand that Bowen needs to go soon to continue his development. The issue for Hull fans would be getting the right fee and more importantly reinvesting it.
