Luton manager Nathan Jones has said that the League Two table-toppers have not received a formal bid from Leeds United for James Justin.

After Luke Ayling was ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury that required surgery, Justin was linked with a switch to Elland Road to fill the breach.

The 18-year-old came play in either full back position and has made 15 appearances for the Hatters, who are four point clear at the top of the League Two table, scoring twice.

Justin signed a long term contract until 2020 in July and attracted serious offers in the summer, with Luton turning down a seven figure sum from Nottingham Forest during the last transfer window.

He told Luton Today: "We’ve not had anything official, but there’s a lot of people talking about James Justin. If I was to put every single one of our players on the transfer list, I would imagine we would earn a hell of a lot of money, but we’re not in the business of doing that."

The Verdict

I think Justin would be a good fit at Leeds but might be slightly inexperienced and raw to step in and make an instant impact like Thomas Christiansen would be looking for.

Jones has scouts all over his players so Leeds would face stiff competition if their interest became concrete.
