Doncaster Rovers manager Darren Ferguson has issued a “hands off” warning to potential suitors of striker John Marquis, reports reliable journalist Jonathan Buchan.

HITC Sport recently reported that a number of clubs were interested in signing prolific Doncaster Rovers striker John Marquis in the summer.

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for Doncaster this season since joining the League Two side in the summer and he has netted 26 goals in 39 appearances.

This has helped Darren Ferguson’s side reach the top of the league and Doncaster look set to clinch promotion back to League One at the first time of asking.

Marquis’ goal scoring displays have not gone unnoticed and Ipswich Town, Norwich City, Barnsley, Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield United and Bristol City are all weighing up moves for the former Millwall man.

However, Darren Ferguson has said that it would take a hefty fee to prise Marquis away in the summer as Doncaster have no intention of selling.

Doncaster fans – is this a relief? How much is Marquis worth?

Championship fans – how much would you pay to land Marquis?
