Manchester United are considering Watford star Ismaila Sarr this summer, it has been claimed.

Following Watford's relegation from the Premier League, it was widely expected that the Senegalese winger would depart Vicarage Road, however, he remains on the books at present.

Not only that, but the 24-year-old has featured in the club's opening two matches of the Championship season, scoring a wonder goal from inside his own half against West Brom last night, and providing the assist for Joao Pedro's winner against Sheffield United in the Hornets' season opener last week.

Despite this, it is still expected that Sarr will depart Vicarage Road in the coming weeks, and the latest side to be linked with a move are Manchester United.

As per transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey, Sarr is now another attacking option under consideration at Old Trafford, with Erik ten Hag's attack needing reinforcements following a disappointing defeat to Brighton at the weekend.

ed with Sarr the last time Watford were relegated, with then United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to bring the Senegalese international to Manchester back in 2020.

A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with signing Sarr this summer, including Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham.

The Verdict

This would obviously be a big loss for Watford.

Sarr's influence the last time the club were in the Championship was arguably the reason the club achieved promotion back to the top-flight, and with a goal and assist under his belt already this term, he would certainly be hard to replace.

There does seem to be an acceptance in WD18, though, that the Senegalese international and his Nigerian teammate Emmanuel Dennis may not remain at the club beyond the end of the summer window.

Sarr would certainly be an interesting option for Man Utd, with plenty of attributes that even a big club like themselves could do with.

The key for Erik ten Hag, if this one went through, would be getting consistent performances out of the 24-year-old.
