A number of top clubs around Europe in the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham have been monitoring the 19-year-old, but United have stole the march on their rivals and look set to win the race.

The United States international joined Fulham's youth set up in 2011 at the age of 15 before making his first-team debut three years later in Championship fixture against Ipswich Town.

He has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season and is beginning to be a regular in the side but the Cottagers, like with striker Moussa Dembele, have yet to get him tied down to a long-term contract.

That means Hyndman and Dembele can walk away from the West London outfit this summer with the club going cap in hand for compensation.

According to HITC SportUnited are keen to sign the Hyndman with a view to loaning him out next season.

It has been another season of struggle for Fulham as they sit in 19th place in the Championship with 32 points from 31 matches and have won just one of their last seven matches.

Slavisa Jokanovic's side face another team struggling in the league this weekend in Charlton Athletic at Craven Cottage.
