There are going to be a number of changes made to Leeds United’s playing squad this summer, as the Whites look to bounce back and challenge for promotion in the Sky Bet Championship next season.

One area of the playing squad that needs strengthening is the goalkeeping department, where Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan let the club down last season.

One man recently linked with a move to Elland Road is Dean Henderson, the Manchester United goalkeeper, who spent last season on-loan with Shrewsbury Town.

Of course, Leeds also have Bailey Peacock-Farrell at the club, with the youngster pushing for a chance to start next season as first choice after impressing during the final third of the season.

We take a look at the goalkeeping rivals in our latest FLW Duel.

Henderson impressed whilst on-loan with Shrewsbury, with the 21-year-old making 38 appearances to help his side reach the play-off final.

The Man United loanee bettered Peacock-Farrell with a lot of his stats last season, mainly due to the fact that the Leeds youngster featured on just 11 occasions.

Henderson kept 14 clean sheets to Peacock-Farrell’s one, whilst he also had a better clean sheet percentage of 36.8% to his counterpart's 9.1%.

In addition to that, Henderson made four penalty saves, with Peacock-Farrell failing to save the one he faced.

As expected, 21-year-old Peacock-Farrell conceded less goals in his fewer appearances, whilst he also kept a clean discipline record, with Henderson cautioned on one occasion.

The Verdict

This could potentially be the battle for the No.1 jersey at Elland Road next season, if Leeds make their move to bring Henderson to West Yorkshire.

The year the 21-year-old had at Shrewsbury was extremely impressive, with Henderson producing some fine performances.

He could be the perfect man to compete for a starting berth alongside Peacock-Farrell, with both able to push each other to aid their development.

Peacock-Farrell is highly-rated at Elland Road, and although Henderson would arrive expecting to play, Leeds’ Northern Irish international would push him all the way for a starting spot.
